Dear sweet girls,

I am often asked this question: To what do you attribute your personal and professional success in this male-dominated culture? 

I often answer that I was named for my two grandmothers. When you are named for two remarkable women, failure is not really an option.

I love both of my grandmothers – your great-grandmothers – dearly. You have an amazing maternal grandmother. May her love for you guide you throughout your lives.

You are loved beyond measure.

Living in a World That Does Not Value You

Dear girls,

Black girls and young women have to live and thrive in a world that does not value them. Strong Black women do not live forever, so we need to prepare our future generations to live and thrive in our absence. 

That’s the main reason this blog exists.

I Love You and Love Spending Time with You

Hi, sweetness 1 and sweetness 2!

I love spending time with you. You are kind, thoughtful, smart and well-mannered – and I get to spoil you. 

In Septembeer 2017, I taught one of you (baby girl) how to perfect your eye-rolling. I allowed both of you to eat ice cream two nights in a row. The next day, I allowed you to stay up ALLLLLL night. I realized your mama was going to get me, but it was worth it. LOL!
